Kay Koppler, we are looking to start a herd here in NE Ohio and would be interested in aquiring some of those you are looking to downsize.
We actually have set up a registry account with UC Davis for Parentage and DNA Marker testing, as well as for Alpha Casean and Genetic Defects. We have at least 3 entire herds so far who have tested their entire herds. We're making great strides in confirming registration certificate pedigrees, through our members who are doing Parentage and DNA Marker testing, through our registry account.
Why use our registry account? contact us at the registry: idgrfiber@gmail.com

Registrations and transfers are super important. I'll be posting how we decided to do this, after speaking with John and Chad and the Livestock Conservancy. Basically there will be 4 herd books:

San Clemente Island - Recovery (for those with missing info, but have lineage info (We obtain farm manages their herd, beginnings of herd etc, lineages, etc) - Purebred)
San Clemente Island - Wild Herd (Again, we retreive herd info and preferably know what bucks and does are in the group. Then when registrations occur, we can have list of possible bucks/does, then do DNA Parentage - Purebred)
San Clemente Island Recordation ( those with no info…

Kay, let me know when you ready to register goats and do transfers etc. I believe I have one doe of yours to send you registrations on that you should have kinda acquired through the grapevine.

Kay Koppler, you can send me your info for the Breeder List. I'm currently keeping it up to date. Also, I am collecting info to locate and identify as many of the SCIs as possible, whether registered or not, and keep up a database on them. Would you be willing to share with me information on goats you have?
